NZ Travel Planner
One of the Primary goals of this site is to provide the capability for Backpackers to not only see what New Zealand has to offer, but also to be able to highlight places or activities of interest and to have them remembered and accessible from a computer anywhere in the world, so that a travel itinerary could be developed.
This process is in two parts:
1) Selecting places or activities of interest and saving them to the on line MY TRIP Favorite Places
2) Creating a Trip Plan incorporating the favorite place or activities, in a logical sequence as you travel from one end of the country to the next.
Points to remember when using this system:
1) Saving Favorite places
Anyone can save their favorite places simply by click the Add to My Trip Favorite places link on each page.
However this will save the favorites TO YOUR COMPUTER via a cookie.
To save favorites to the website, specifically for you, it is necessary to create an account and LOG IN.
This will allow you to access your favorites from any internet connected computer in the world.
2)
Because so often we arrive in a location and ask the locals “What should we do or see”
We get pointed at a few popular places and thoroughly enjoy the experience and then move on to the next location without being fully aware of other places of interest in the vicinity.
For instance there is a story of some tourists who arrrived in Rotorua, the Thermal Paradise of New Zealand. They visited the Gondala and Rainbow springs fish farm and the Maori Village, but it wasn’t until they had moved to Christchurch 1000 km away that they discovered they had not seen the most famous geothermal mudpools and Geyser at Whakarewarewa.
It is out intention to bring this site to a point that anyone planning a trip around New Zealand can confidently refer to this site and easily find relevant places to visit, plus be pointed in the direction of other places in the immediate vicinity.
